Beetle swims with the sharks

VW was proud to reveal their contribution to Discovery's Shark Week. As the official title sponsor of Discovery Channel's 25th annual Shark Week, Volkswagen were eager to come up with something memorable and unique. At first, VW and Discovery also had some difficulty relating a small, German hatch (the 21st Century Beetle) to a large, prehistoric fish.

Seinfeld is back at it, with a new web series called "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee". It's a slick presentation, leaps and bounds over the typical "webisode", complete with HD quality. In this episode, he picks up his long time friend and cohort in comedy, Larry David.

Jetta's 5-cylinder to be replaced

It's long been suspected that the 2.5L inline 5-cylinder found in the Jetta would eventually be replaced in the US market, but we never got official confirmation or a release date. This month we got that confirmation. Volkswagen has confirmed the 2014 VW Jetta will lose the 2.5 and gain a 1.8L 4-cyclinder turbrocharged engine.

Beetle Convertible to debut

Mark your calendars in November! Volkswagen has confirmed that the 2013 VW Beetle Convertible will be making its debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show in just a few months.
